A man came to Umar ibn al-Khattab and said: "I had a daughter who was buried alive in pre-Islamic days, but I managed to rescue her before she died. She embraced Islam, but subsequently committed a grave sin (of fornication). She took a blade to kill herself. I only reached her after she had cut some vein close to her throat. I treated her until she fully recovered. Then she repented well. Now I am receiving proposals of marriage with her. Should I tell the suitor of her past?" • Umar said to him: "Do you want to tell of her past? Do you expose what God has kept covered? By God, if you tell any person about her [sexual| past I shall make of you an example for the people of all regions. That is how it is supposed to be but nowadays many marriages are coming to an end at their early stage because of these issues, he thought she was a virgin and after marriage found out she wasn't, he feels betrayed and shattered and the trust disappears ....what is marriage without trust, what is marriage with doubt? .....like I said, this is how it is supposed to be but the world we live in now, I don't know what is the right thing to do anymore. Tell the truth before marriage risking loosing him or not telling him and risking being a divorcee....

And sadly enough most guys have this habit of, tell me about your past and later on when things doesn’t work out all his friends will come to know about it which is very bad
